Hm, well those are fair arguments. I suppose I could set the DC to 12, then, for a single round. We'll call it a surprise round of fire. If you want to redirect your fire, let me know.

Nah. I posted the move. If the opportunity still is there in next round I will consider it then.

The Drakkarim crossbowmen fire again, this time both of them aiming for Bonnie, as she breaks cover. Two hits on Bonnie, roll toughness (keep in mind you now have +1 toughness due to the faithshield. This is a temporary bonus).
invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1906825/Bonnie drops to one knee, takes careful aim, and lets fly her arrow. There is a hiss of sound as it leaves her bow. The next instant, a scream sounds and one of the crossbowmen falls back, with an arrow embedded in the slit of his helmet. At the same time, Gregor, seeing Bonnie under attacks, lets loose more of his powers of lightning hand. The bolt hits home, but the archer shrugs it off and gets back behind cover. Archer 1: dead Archer 2: 2/5Owain casts his faithshield one final time, and then collapses to his knees in spiritual exhaustion. It was worth the effort, though. Meldorac was now protected by Ishir's grace. Owain glances along the wall to see Michael cowering in terror. The battle seems to have gotten to the healer. Meldorac +2 dice to toughness.
Michael hasn't posted me any moves in a while, so I'm putting his character in temporary duress, until I find out if our healer is still playing. All eyes turn now to Meldorac, facing off against the massive Drakkarim Commander in the middle of the arena. Meldorac shouts something, a quick sentence maybe?, in what sounds like another language. In response, the Commander only laughs and comes at him with his blade. Meldorac's weapon of choice is a bit odd: his money pouch, used like a sap. The scholar seems to be trying to knock the Drakkarim's blade from his hand, but the Commander is obviously too seasoned a warrior to lose hold of his weapon. Commander (10/11): 9, 12+4 (9 saved) Meldorac: 4, 9, 11
The Commander is using his 9 to cancel the switch up in the second number. You can cancel this switch up yourself by taking 2 insanity points, but it won't be enough to knock his sword out of his hands like you wanted. It would prevent you from taking 4 damage though. Alternatively, you can take the damage and hope to resist it. Your call. Another option: Trenton can take some or all of the damage.
Descriptive result coming after your decision.

Using his staff to help himself back to his feet, Owain searches for a way up to the dead archer in order to seize his crossbow.
In my last post I stated Owain was casting Faithshield on himself (but using the roll I sent in earlier, as permitted by the GM), but since Meldorac is the only character actually in melee with the commander I'm happy for him to keep it.

My bad, Owain. Sorry about that. Reading it now, I don't know why I thought you meant Meldorac. If you're happy with the results, that's fine, but if you want to change it to be cast on you instead, I'd allow that.
As for a way up... hmmm... I'm not sure you could do anything except scale the wall at this point. It IS a cliff wall, so there are some uneven points and rough edges, but without any climbing aparatus it would be tough. I'm talking like 4 Skill successes at a DC of 18.

"EARN YOUR MONEY, MERCENARY!" yells Meldorac seeing Trenton closeby, before he engages the captain with an improvised weapon himself. Darn right I want him to take some of the damage! Though how do the points from faithshied work if Owain keeps it on me? Can I roll to resist a point of damage, then deduct more points from Trenton afterwards? And hmm, if I use insantity to resist the damage, doesn't that single point push me into the brink already? That's alot of experience to use to counter that

I thought Bonnie had claimed the merc, hence why he hasnt been used by anyone else yet... oh well....
Toughness - invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1909337/ Gregors victory over one of the archers is short-lived as arrows slam into him. He stumbles back with the recoil and looks around for assistance. "Where is that damn healer!!"

Owain rushes over to Gregor. "Got any laumspur?" he says.
OK, call me psychic but it appears Gregor would quite like some healing. Owain doesn't heal with "cure light wounds" type magic. That would be Michael, wherever he is. Instead Owain enhances the effect of healing items, so Gregor will have to give him a potion if he has one. The good thing is, if Owain used magic for healing he wouldn't be able to help at all right now.

No-one has claimed Trenton yet, as far as I know. Bonnie used his skill ability, and he can take damage for anyone, as long as you describe him taking the hit. His combat add has yet to be claimed.
Meldorac, you can roll resist and have Trenton take what's left, yes. And no, you don't go to the next level until you've PASSED your mental score. So you'd need 3 insanity to send you to The Brink.
As far as giving potions and what not, we'll call that an action. You can "use" the potion on Gregor as your action, and he can fight as his, though.

"Unfortunately I used what potion I had in our last little scuffle." Gregor stands still, ready to receive any help that Owain would like to give. "I can still fight though, lets end this quickly" Gregor thrusts his hands forward and blasts lightning at the remaining Drakkar archer. More attacks on the archer? 1d20=19, 1d20=20, 1d20=20, 1d20=7. Thats more like it! In this order please (7, 19, 20, 20). I guess that'd be a dead archer

I was waiting for Meldorac's post to announce it, but the Commander will be coming for you next turn, Bonnie. Gregor, if he's got any magic left (I think you have one spell?) can fire at him thought, at a DC of 14. Lightning Hand can also be used close quarters, remember.
And don't anyone forget about Trenton's BLAZE OF GLORY skill, which deals twice his life in damage to an enemy, but kills Trenton. Just in case you guys need an emergency exit from this tough battle.
