"What brought you to this house, sir knight?" asks Owain respectfully.

"I was seeking shelter for the night, the same as you were," says Sir Aram.

Sir Aram doesn't post... he solves problems. His description of the house is apt. I'd still like to get a picture up for everyone, but I remembered I don't have a scanner. I'll fool around in paint, and maybe get up some basic architecture anyways.

"But before that? Why is a knight out here alone?" asks Owain.

Thanks, zipp! Paint is what I used for the maps I made for Zombie Apocalypse, and it does the job. If you've got a digital camera, you can use that to take a picture and then upload it.
"I am on my way to Oasis," explains Sir Aram. "My sister lives there, and I must rescue her. I heard of the plague in the King's court and rode south with all haste. I came alone because I could not ask anyone else to risk their lives for my sister, and because speed was of the essence. Why is your group out here? Are you refugees from Oasis?"

Okay, now that the map is up, indicate your paths through the house. Owain, I'm assuming you head to one of the bedrooms... which one?
Let's say that everyone has time for one of the following sets of actions before the next event:
A thorough search of a single room (DC 10) A decent search of two rooms (DC 14) A quick search of three rooms (DC 17)
Alternatively, you can take a complicated set of actions, like cleaning the kitchen, or preparing a bed and tending to Michael.
Hallways don't count as rooms.

"I'll help you bring Michael upstairs," says Aram to Owain. "I am the strongest, and we also do not yet know for certain that there is no danger up there, so it is best if I escort you." He helps bring the wounded man through the dining hall, around the back hall, and up the stairs. He takes a quick peek inside each door in the upstairs hall just to make sure it's safe. "We should probably put Michael in the master bedroom, as it would have the most comfortable bed, but it is up to you. I shall prepare the bed for him."

I would suggest we take a room each? The house seems small enough that shuld we encounter any trouble, we would be within a round of reaching the other for assistance. I'll take the living room.

As soon as I know everyone's actions (post all the rooms you intend on searching, according to the limitations) I'll post again. Note there might be things in the rooms, so post only your intentions, not what actually happens.
I'll take care of that part ^_^

Explore through the door beyond the dining room that Amar was just about to check. If there is nothing, check out the locked door and see if it is really locked on the ground floor. I call Trenton to protect me form the evil monster behind the doors

Owain shows Aram his letter from the King. "We are also travelling to Oasis, to investigate the situation there. If you wish to travel with us your protection would be invaluable, I'm sure. "Thank you also for your assistance with Michael. The master bedroom it is." Owain accompanies the knight and Michael.

Everyone gathered initially in the dining room, before going their separate ways. Sir Aram and Owain took Michael, who was having trouble walking (a sign that disturbed Owain greatly), and between them got him up the stairs. Bonnie followed, shaking off a feeling of dread that had settled upon her ever since entering the house.
Meldorac and Trenton (who more and more seemed to follow the scholar around protectively) headed past the stairs for the back of the house.
Gregor decided to stay in the dining room. Perhaps it was the smell of the delicious food, or perhaps it was because it seemed to be the most inviting of the spaces, with all the lights (which despite Bonnie's warning, everyone seemed hesitant to douse).
Everyone noted that the house was in good repair, and had every sign of having been lived in. At any moment any one of them expected the owner to come around the corner, and he wouldn't have seemed out of place wearing a gorgeous robe and smoking a fine pipe. The furnishings of the house showed taste, a strange thing for a home so removed from civilization.
Rather than confuse matters (and myself) with posts spread across everyone's private boards, I'm going to detail the search here in the main thread. Any special information (little details or items found) will be posted in your own boards.
I got to go take a shower and run out to the bank. When I come back, we'll move on.

Gregor moved around the dining room, looking over the finery on the table, the well prepared dishes of food which included chicken, pork, and fish... quite a menagerie for living in such isolation. The plates were laid out and some were still half full of half eaten food. It seemed like a normal end-of-meal scene, though obviously for a wealthy family.
Everything in the room spoke of exceeding wealth: the fine curtains over the windows, the oak chairs, the ceramic dishes in which the food sat, the smell of the exotic spices used in the food. Even the sconces in which the candles that lit the whole room sat were ornately made. Some even had carvings on them, and most seemed made of real gold. Gregor examined them closer.
Meanwhile, upstairs, Bonnie ducked into the guest room. The room was fairly sparse, containing two beds, a dresser with a mirror, and two chamber pots, but each of these items was of the finest make. Even the chamber pot was made of silver, instead of the usual bronze, a showy sign of wealth considering its purpose.
Looking at the dresser, Bonnie saw a comb and a very conservative dress, replete with a head piece, sitting there. The dress almost seemed to be more of a uniform, and it put Bonnie in the mind of the very rich houses in Holmgard, where a permanent serving staff was kept on hand.
While looking around the room, Bonnie finally realized what it was that was making her skin crawl. Though this house showed every sign of being well cared for and recently lived in, there was not a single sound to show any sign of life. It was like a pantomime of life, like a well built doll house.
One room over, Owain and Sir Aram brought Michael into the Master Bedroom ("How did you know this was the Master Bedroom?" Owain asked the knight, who replied "It had the nicest door"). The bedroom was beautiful, and like all the other bedrooms, was lit dimly with well placed candles that cast a somber but effective light over everything. Owain pulled Michael over to the bed, ignoring the two closets, the three dressers, and the bedstand, and instead focusing on getting Michael situated. He felt a little strange about using someone else's bed, but Michael had turned a sickly grey colour and Owain was too concerned for politeness.
He pulled back the covers of the bed, revealing the dead body of a woman, her throat slit, the bed saturated with the contents of her full stomach and bladder. Michael groaned and turned more grey. Owain leapt back from the bed in shock. Sir Aram, who had been investigating a closet at the end of the room, turned around to see what was the matter.
Meanwhile, Meldorac and Trenton were downstairs in a grand study, replete with a personal library, a fireplace, a hardwood desk, and two immensely comfortable chairs. The fire was lit, and the room was aglow with soft light. Meldorac looked at a few of the books, but he was more interested in locating the owner of the house.
In the scholar's mind, a locked door was always the first place to look. He remembered Aram mentioning the door beyond the kitchen, and he and Trenton went back that way for a closer examination.
Meldorac gave the door knob a customary jiggle... and nearly jumped out of his skin as a shrill scream sounded from beyond the door.
The scream is loud enough for everyone to hear it. Sound travels in wooden houses.
