"Be careful," says Owain. "If you jam the lock the key will be useless."
Not sure which stat should be used for a pure strength test. Logically our knight would be the best choice, but he only has 1 SKILL.

Well, he is suitable and gets +5 for Trenton's aid!
"Bah, the handle and door felt jammed anyway, maybe the rushed 'hero' deliberately did it." Meldorac then looks amused at the healer. "Why, what do you know of locks?"

"Very little," admits the priest. "But it strikes me that the key to this room is surely nearby."

I'd probably allow combat to be used against the door, with Trenton giving +1 as per his extra combat die. After all, we all remember one of the most deadly encounters in Lone Wolf, don't we?

Meldorac shrugs. "I wager we need to find Thanh for that, and he seems to be as absent as his homicidal master. Perhaps brute force will do what we cannot."

Had Gnaag hidden in Homebase instead of Helgedad Lone Wolf wouldn't have stood a chance.

I don't fear to face the mighty door! I would even fight the dreaded Gazebo. Or a windmill - got one of those around?
"Very well," says Sir Aram to Michael. "Take care, and call if you need us." He follows Owain and Bonnie downstairs to the locked door, where he hears the commotion. "I am Sir Aram, Knight of the Realm," he calls to those on the other side of the door. "I think we can force that door open with little difficulty. Alternatively, we could look for this Thanh and hope he has the key on him, and that the door's lock has not been jammed. What say the rest of you?"

"Whoever is on the other side of that door is in no immediate danger by the sound of it and we have already searched most of the accessible parts of the house. Thanh has to be nearby unless he has fled entirely," says Owain. "I think we should look around a little more."

I await the decision of the masses before I move us forward. Of course, if someone wishes to attack the door, they can just do so with a combat roll and skip all discussion.

"There seemed to be a hidden room adjacent to my room", Bonnie says. "That is unless the room on the other side of the corridor gave access to it."

"There may be a secret passage leading out of the master bedroom as well," says Aram. "I felt a draft when I was in there, just before I heard the scream. I think it's worth checking them out. Perhaps Thanh has hidden in some secret room upstairs."

"Perhaps we should look for the nearest tree in an hour's ride with a clump of bodies beneath it and a lord hanging from a branch," mutters Meldorac under his breath, amazed at the foolish optimism of the group.
"Perhaps someone should keep watch out the front door," says Meldorac out loud, "to make sure no insane lords nor darklanders are coming back - since we seem intent on keeping lights on everywhere and making as much noise as possible?"
Trenton should keep watch if no one else wants to, or wants him. If no one is keeping watch, Meldorac will, otherwise he will stay at the locked door.

"Shall we go to the master bedroom, Bonnie's room or split up and search both?" asks Owain.

Gregor taps his foot impatiently. "By the beard of Kai, are we opening this door or not?! I did not realise we had to discuss every decision in a committee, especially when an innocents life is in our hands!" Gregor moves forward to the door, barging people out the way. "Trenton, give me a hand here!" Claiming Trenton for this "combat". Get ready for an ultimate fail here
Door open check (2 combat, 1 trenton, 2 spear) (1d20=20, 1d20=11, 1d20=11, 1d20=5, 1d20=11)
haha, maybe not! Guess the 20 does it! Whoo to the muscle wizards!!![/color]
