Owain rushes over to the embattled pair and tries to separate them. "Hold it! Nobody kills anyone until I get some answers!" he shouts.

"QUIET OUTSIDER!" hisses Mowyer focusing all her attention on Gregor, "What sort of priest allows another to die without comment! A ruler no less! Unhand me, I act for Citadel and Oasis!"

"You think it normal for a priest of Ishir to torture innocents and experiment on them?" asks Owain, his voice cool but insistent. "There was something very wrong with that man. Killing each other will not help us determine what happened to him. Like it or not, we need Gregor's knowledge of magic."

As his back was turned, Gregor did not notice Mowyers sudden attack. The mage reaches up with his own hands and tries to prise apart Mowyers grip, but his own strength is nowhere near as good as the others. He begins to cough even more as the grip gets tighter.

"You may need the mage, OUTSIDER, but Oasis does not. Whether Igasso was a monster or a puppet of magic like his thralls, HIS LIFE WAS OASIS'S TO JUDGE AND TAKE, NOT SOME FILTHY COWARDLY MURDERING OUTSIDER!"
If anything Mowyer is squeezing harder, as hard as she is allowed in the struggle.

"Fine. Kill Gregor. Kill the only person capable of countering whatever magic threatens Oasis. Kill him and condemn your city," says Owain, as unruffled as before.

The other rebels comes from the cage cautiously. Some of them seem ready to help Mowyer, others don't seem so sure. None of them take any action except to watch with varying looks of approval or disgust on their faces.
At this point, I'll need actions from everyone to decide what's going to happen. Unless someone interferes, Mowyer will choke Gregor to death if she so desires. Gregor could also cast a spell and escape that way. Moira's also available for you to use at this point.
I should probably give you her stats, actually: Moira END 5/5 Abilities in ally thread.

Dibs!
"Moira," hisses Mowyer to the rebel, "whether you must fight against the council or fight to make them see the truth as I do, this man's actions have doomed us all! My mother, and the other rulers, will not allow Igasso's murder to stand! By his cowardly actions everyone in this room, outsider and citizen alike, is DEAD. We must end this murdering outsider's life not just for justice but to keep alive both ourselves and our only chance to heal this city!"
So I can choose to have Moira accept that argument and keep Mowyer's back from unprovoked attacks, then? Cause that's what she'll do.
Since as a player I'm not evil, can someone please persuade Mowyer or stop her. She will kill Gregor dead if someone doesn't say something! He's our only hope isn't going to cut it. Aram probably has a better chance, or an argument more serving Oasis might do it.
Please! Think of the poor Gregor!

I'm going to wait and see what Aram does once he gets online. He might have a brilliant idea. My backup plan is scuppered as I don't have my quarterstaff to clonk Mowyer over the head with.

Moira seems confused by the entire encounter, but something in Mowyer's words reaches her and she simply watches as the woman chokes the mage to death.
Recall that aside from Moira, who is indeed now in favour of letting Gregor die as per Mowyer's claim, there are a group of possibly helpful rebels, about eight of them, who might be persuaded to pull Mowyer off. Remember, the rebels don't seem to like the Council very much and they WERE attacking Igasso's fortress.

Yeah, but I don't think this should be all about Mo and O. Aram wouldn't just stand around doing nothing while this is happening. This is the chance for him to bring the grudge he's been harbouring to a head, RP-wise. He might just cheer Mo on, but he wouldn't be doing nothing.

Oh, no, I agree. I was just saying, it's an option, too.

Sir Aram sighs. "Do not slay him yet," he says reluctantly. "I am not familiar with the laws of Oasis, but I believe a man has the right to be tried before he is executed, or at least to speak in his own defense. So let him speak - just watch his hands. I do not trust him, but I would like to hear some answers too. The mage's flight through the portal leaving us to die is only one concern. I would personally like to know what happened to Sherri and Meldorac, and he is the only one with that knowledge. Once you kill him, he'll take it to his grave and we'll never get it out of him - unless you happen to be a necromancer." He makes no move to intervene physically, however.
