Just one thing - Randal started the game with 5 Gold Crowns (random number) - is this right or should it have read random number +10?

Rant - Anyone starting with Alchemy should also get some free components. All other skills come fully assembled, do they not? Also, in the Grey Star books, you start out with Sulphur, Saltpetre and some empty vials. Perhaps that's not enough to do much, but it does mitigate having to blow all your gold at the start of the game.
Now I've had my rant, I'll just say that Randal wants all the ingredients required to make a vial of acid, but these cost an outrageous 20 gold so he needs to try and beat the shopkeeper down to 15 or less.
Edit re "restores all lost WILLPOWER" - does this reflect a change from Grey Star, where there was no maximum WILLPOWER score?
Edited again for benefit of Lukav, who seems to want to try and haggle on Randal's behalf.

Well, is this not a first attempt to classes other than Kai of Brotherhood Mage into the gamebook rules? Not everything's going to be perfect straight away, and maybe some things can be adjusted as we go. Or maybe you used everything up on your looooong trek from Dessi.

The Elder Mage is basically Grey Star, so actually has a stronger gamebook pedigree than a Brotherhood Mage.

Eh? I thought he came from Dessi?
And Grey Star was taught by the Shianti, wasn't he? Which a Dessi mage wouldn't have been....?
Okay, confused....

The main LWRPG book says that the Dessi mages are in fact descended from the Shianti, but most don't know it. Apparently this information comes from Joe Dever himself and was incorporated into the design of the class.

As for Willpower, we'll just say it restores you to your starting score.

Yay! Thanks. I knew my relentless whining would pay off eventually. I suppose I should push my luck and ask about the Jewelled Dagger as well.

Apparently this information comes from Joe Dever himself and was incorporated into the design of the class. There is a lot of "information" in the LWRPG that may or may not have come from Joe Dever, but certainly is not very cohesive. Therefore, I am rather hoping this particular tidbit is among that more typical situation that it was another one of those "inventions" of the RPG writers (just as the Dessi Magician class itself apparently was).

I can't really think of any way for Randal to prevent our detection, unless you want him to hadouken any witnesses.

We seem to have gone from 'several days per update' to 'several updates per day'. Any reason for this manic frenzy of activity?

I think with meetings involving only one or two people (liek the shopkeeper and horseseller before) crymson speeds up the posting to the speed of the speaker to get it done quicker so we can sync back up

Plus we're actually getting on with the story now, which is good.
