Gregor jumped despite himself. That was not a noise he was expecting while searching the house. He was expecting... something. Maybe an old man to peer out behind a chair or a quivering child in a corner. Not wasting any more time, Gregor hurried to the kitchen where he found Meldorac and Trenton standing there by the door. "What in Ishirs name was that!!! "

Though startled by the double shock of the grisly discovery and the scream, Owain recovers his composure enough to utter a brief prayer for Ishir to watch over the dead woman and protect those still living, then head towards the source of the scream, crossbow in hand.

Sir Aram follows Owain as quickly as he can while carrying Michael. "I will gladly accompany you and your companions to Oasis," he says. "Your quest is urgent, and as a servant of the King it is now my quest as well. We'll have to find another room for Michael, and we must investigate that scream downstairs. What happened to him to put him in this condition?"

Michael waves everyone off of him.
"Go see what's wrong," he stammers. "I'll be fine here for a few minutes."

Meldorac doesn't know how to react for a moment, but then a senario re-arranges in his mind and he speaks with words tripping from his mouth. "Please," Meldorac yells in shock, "we mean you no harm. We are under orders from the King to investigate Oasis. We only seek shelter and answers. Where is everyone? Why are you hiding?"
He looks to Trenton as if for answers, then his face gets harsher and he whispers, "Watch out for our 'knight' friend, something is not right here."

"We were ambushed by Drakkarim and Michael was injured by their leader," Owain tells Aram as they move through the house. "His condition has worsened since then however. He needs proper rest and care."

A meek feminine voice spoke out from behind the door:
"Is he gone? Mister Mason's not here anymore is he? The owner of the house? Oh god, he killed them all."
By this time, Gregor had joined Meldorac in the small room. They could hear footsteps above them: no doubt belonging to Owain, Sir Aram, and Bonnie.

"There's none here who should be here, lass," says Meldorac uncertainly, "just those on a mission looking for answers in Oasis." Meldorac looks to the rest of the group meekly for support. "If you come out, and tell us what has occurred, you might be aiding us in our task. And we in turn can aid and protect you." Meldorac looks back at the group and shrugs again. Being a rescuer of a damsel in distress has never been his task. The talk of a well respected lord suddenly going insane is not a comforting tale.
"Is this behaviour of the plague?" asks Meldorac of Trenton in horror.

Gregor can see Mel struggling with the conversation. He places a hand on the scholars shoulder and indicates he should move aside. Moving up to the door, Gregor leans in towards it.
"Madam. We are travellers from Sommerlund, looking for answer at the Oasis under orders from the King. We have no wish to harm you madam, only to assist in seeking your safety and bringing a murderer to justice. I personaly guarentee your safety under the protection of the Brotherhood of the Crystal Star."

Bonnie thoughtfully leaves the bed room and goes below to join the line of people who have gathered outside the locked door.
She listens in but keeps a watchful eye around her. Mostly expecting the silence to be broken again by someone else.

"I can't get out," the voice calls. "The door is locked on your side, and I don't have the key! Thanh had the key, he locked me in here when The Master went mad! He was trying to protect me!"

"Thanh?" mouths Meldorac to the rest, wondering if they have found any evidence of the man. Meldorac come forward again infrotn of the door.
"Probably not locked properly if the man was rushed," whispers Meldorac to the group.
"Stand back...umm, whoever you are, we'll try to pick the lock," says Meldorac out loud, shrugging to the group and ruefully taking out his dagger. He motions to Trenton, and mimes pulling on the handle to free the door.
Meldorac then theatrically moves the dagger in the lock.
What roll do I need to make for Trenton to strength check on pulling the door?

The only way Trenton will add dice to this is if you use his special skill Jack of All Trades, which adds +5 dice. Then you could say the door opens because of him pulling on the door.

I'll let someone beefier like Amar get the Trenton aid to jank the door open
As Trenton pulls at the door, Meldorac takes a step back. "The door lock feels jammed," he says, "anyone want to try pulling the door open out of its fixings?"
