Bonnie initiated an in character conversation with Meldorac, here is a transcript now it's finished (Bonnie started):
"An exciting mission we are on. What do you think of it all?"
"It is obviously not a fool's errand. Were the need not urgent to continue, we should warn the king that something dark is happening on his very border. Darklanders infest the area - it could be the prelude to a second invasion."
"Several skirmishes have already been fought between darkland troops and the Sommlending. They have not been around the Oasis, but along the western border, so the King is aware that Darklanders are entering Sommerlund in this area."
Meldorac looks at Bonne in both alarm and incredulous disdain. "And despite this, we are sent in place of a troop of border rangers or soldiers?" Meldorac shakes his head in bewiderment.
"The only reason to send soldiers would be to enforce that no one leaves Oasis and contain the Plague. The reason we were sent is more to see what can be done about the Plague and prevent it from Spreading in Sommerlund. I believe I've figured whose Guild the others are from. So how about you? Which Guild are you from?"
"The only one with some sense, apparently," said Meldorac, then he leans in closer to hiss the next words. "I have my eye on you. Rather than ask questions in the open, you ask them in secret. That makes you a fool or false. Just like setting up camp iwih enemy you knew could be close instead of patrolling the areas. Just like leading us in to an enemy held outpost. You are either blundering once more where you should not, tipping off those false, or you are false and again seeking to undermine the group's purpose. Can I suggest you stop your actions, follow your kings orders, and allow me to do the job my guild has asked of me without this amateur interference!"
Meldorac then paused. "Unless you do not follow the king's order, in which case I say again - I have my eye on you." With that, Meldorac breaks off contact and moves back to where the group is.
When Melodrac moves away, Bonnie says.
"And just what is your Job?"
Meldorac pauses for a moment, but walks away without further comment.

As you might guess, Meldorac wasn't feelign as cool as hsi replies made out. He owld be shaken that he really needs the group for the darkland forces around, and et he has such a flimsy story to hang on it. I kinda deliberately played him as not that good at acting, so he's just been a mysterious dick and not too scholarly He doesn't thnk Bonnie is false, but he does tink her very, very foolish. He would suspect Gregor but has o idea if anone can fake eft Hnded Magic. He has started to suspect Owain. The healer seemed to be unduly targetted by the Drakkar, and why is he so interested in getting a crossbow, a more assassin-y weapon? If at any point Bonnie launches an accusation or request for more information on Meldorac with the group around, Meldorac wlll be very aggressive and attack the border ranger for being indiscrete, Gregor and Owain as having questionable actions (the fact Gregor mocked Meldorac for a non-agressive action while murderng a drakkarim with a spear!) and will admit he has been told someone may be false in the group. He might venture there is a 'powerful' item in the town that must be found, and will certainly hint it might be to do with the plague while not disclosing whta the item is or of curse it's location! Msdrection is the nae of the game, aswell as seeing who reacts to information close to their hidden purpose. He will also point out he only trusts Trenton at this point - which is actually true!

He will also point out he only trusts Trenton at this point - which is actually true! Trenton's an obvious choice for a trustworthy fellow- maybe not least because he's being motivated by money! Of course, all that would also make him the PERFECT candidate for betrayal ^_^

The fact he jumped infront of a Drakkarim blade to take 2 damage is pretty convincing Or at least puts him as being too sneaky for Meldorac to suss out!

At the risk of destroying tension I'll tell you that you definitely don't need to worry about Trenton. He's loyal, and increasingly so to you in particular. If you were to be attacked by Bonnie or the others, he would definitely side with you. He might even refuse his services to one of the party members if they were to attack you... verbally, I mean. He'd probably try to kill anyone who attacked you right out.

Cool Poor Bonnie at least, she didn't pay him did she? A fact I imagine Meldorac would be quick to exploit if needed. Need to check to see who else didn't...
