Definitely not brilliant enough to gain much.
Owain keeps his cool like usual. But that could be something in itself, you note. A healer, who has never been in combat, able to keep his cool during the most tense of situations? You remember the other healer, Michael. Now THAT'S more like what you would expect out of a non-combatant. Even Gregor seems nervous. Bonnie and Aram and Trenton have reason to be fine, and you know you are alright. But Owain? A little strange...

I guess after his outburst, Meldorac will be more interested in the reaction of Owain and Amar. Are they outraged, or are they having to mask their own agreement at a pragmatic viewpoint? Or, you know, if they take umbrage is it too much.

I can't tell you much... only point you to read Owain's own words carefully, such as this sentence:
Owain treats Sherri's cut as best he can, saying little more than a few soothing, empty words.

Yeah, in my mind and Meldorac's it's all adding up to Owain being a little bit of a sham! Whether he's a sham as in an assassin or another thief from a rival merchant guild or something else.... we shall see.

Across the street from you is a two-storey building. You suddenly see movement in one of the upper story windows.

As you were helping Sherri up the rope, you heard a sound above you. Looking up, you were shocked to see two young girls, twins from the looks of it, wearing identical night gowns and smiling at you over the lip of the window.
"Bonnie didn't make it," one of them said.
"Tooooo bad," the other intoned.
"You should join her, so we can all play together."
The girl produces a knife and slashes at the rope, waving at you as you fall to the mob below. Then the two disappear back into the room.

Lol, haven't posted here in a while - I guess been busy, and Meldorac's been indescrete on the main forum enough to not need to be duplicitous here Perception on the dark-skinned guard - appearance, temperament, tattooes, weapon, looking at him for anything! (1d20=14, 1d20=12, 1d20=2, 1d20=18)So yeah, for once he's not looking in five directions at once - he's totally focused on the man infront. I guess the rolls kinda show that, and kinda show our new player is a bit of a wild mystery!

Let's start by saying you don't get a very good look at the man. However, you do notice some interesting things. For one, he looks Vassagonian. So far, you hadn't been able to place the look of the citizens who attacked you, but now you realize they, too, had a Vassan look about them. Sherri is an exception, she looks Sommerlund. You'll have to ask her about this.
You do see that Naseir has the runic tatoo on his hand that Sherri does, only his is yellow. But he also has a strange tattoo on his cheek: a pentagon encircling a hand.

Ooh. And once(if) I get out of the mini-game, I may actually be able to see where those observations lead!
