You don't hear or see any creepy little girls, but you do see a bard approaching you sadly out of the darkness. "You shouldn't be here," the bard says. "This is not the place for the likes of you. But I'm not sure you can escape either. My three companions and I have been stuck here for a long time."
"If you do want to leave, you have to go towards the sound of running water. That's what I say. Beware of what my friends tell you, though. They will all tell you to go a different way. Most certainly do not go towards the light, we tried it and it doesn't work. The knight and the princess will both steer you right. Don't listen to the archer, though. He couldn't tell the truth to save his life. And don't listen to this newcomer to your party, this Vassagonian. I heard him plotting in another house across the city. He works for the Citadel. He'll bring you there and then have you killed for intruding in Oasis."
With that, the bard disappears.

I think Meldorac is going to lie to give himserlf more credibility and include the stuff from this vision and the previous enounter to weave a nice implausible web. Hopefully enough truth incase others have seen things too! I only just realised that knight, archer and princess might mean Aram, OWain and Sherri..or it might be other vision folk! I'll play it that Meldorac only realises this vaguely as he is talking - basically at the point where he mentions an archer. The reason Meldorac is more animated is that he thought the twins were very much in control or in concordance with the weirdness, and the fact there are so many factions means he realises he needs to tread carefully and protect from revealation by supernatural forces too! So he's back on scared alert

Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!

A fairly complex puzzle this one, yes. Made more complex by your lies ^_^

I didn't realise you were setting up for a game, I thought it was all plotty stuff! If this is the sort of trick I think it is, then you might be interested in checking out my KDD5 Sixth Sense contest at the start of next month!

And Meldorac pats himself metaphorically on the back for extricating his lies from the puzzle, while I just wipe the sweat from my brow for having managed to not bugger up the puzzle...umm, I hope... Heh, having a twisted GM who could easily be doing the things I am lying about helps immensely

Thank you! It will get more twisted... especially if Naseir stays with us. His goal is particularly twisted. I feel comfortable telling you this because, as far as you know, EVERYONE'S goal is twisted.
Actually, I'll tease you a bit and tell you that, honestly, your own goal is one of the LEAST twisted.

Lol, Meldorac's goal is easy - nab the MacGuffin or die! I've got the simplest goal, which is why I'm compensating by being so twisted about accomplishing it I guess!
I mean, Owain seems like a real priest of Ishir and yet is obviously some crossbow weilding something or other, or the psychopathic knight, or the twisted Vassgonian trying to do something - maybe he's a double agent with the Darklanders!
It will be interesting to see this all when it is finished - Michael and Bonnie's goals too!

You've all still got a ways to go yet, though. I worked out the plan I have in mind in my head the other day and came up with a number of roughly 24 scenes.

Wow, it's increased by 4 scenes since last tally!
Barely scratched the surface really... need to get to scene 8 before we have finished the first act!

Oh, about your perception roll from last round...
You haven't gotten hit yet, so you can't test your theory of "imaginary damage." However, you do notice that something isn't quite right here. If this is a real battle, the smell of blood should be in your nostrils. Plus, the sun is still hanging hazy in the sky, and a wind is blowing. But you feel no wind upon your face, and your body feels cold, not warm at all. Still, the creatures in front of you seem real enough. It's a problem, to be sure.
