Good rolls. Okay, you don't notice anything at first, but then an idea strikes you. You get up close to the tapestry and try to look at it from the other's perspective. Almost instantly, the tapestry seems to dance and shimmer and the images on it seem to move in the rhythm of battle. It becomes hard to pull your attention away, but a quick glance to your left, towards Meldorac, startles you enough to make you jump back. His eyes are covered in a misty blackness, like ink, and out of his mouth comes a thin mist of the darkness. You realize you've been breathing it in, and you start coughing to clear your lungs of the stuff.
Now you're sure of it. The dark mist has entered your companions and is driving this illusion. It doesn't tell you whether or not the tapestry itself is bewitched or what tearing it down will do. At the very least, it would probably shake up the illusion, if not break it.

His mind made up, Owain decides to try and destroy the tapestry to stop the black mist invading his companions' bodies. Holding his breath, he grabs hold of the cursed object, plants a foot against the wall, and heaves with all his strength.

Tthey definitely get a mental check this turn.
You pull at the tapestry. Nailed into the wall, the tapestry refuses to come free, but it does shake and weave as you tug at it. Maybe it would go faster if you found a way to remove the nails? Or maybe there's some other way to affect the tapestry and break the illusion.

Having failed to rip the tapestry from the wall, Owain gently prises Meldorac's fingers from his dagger until it falls to the floor. He picks it up and begins levering the nails from the wall.

Nice! Meldorac has failed enough mental rolls to list him as invalid. It's probably gonna be up to you to save them. Let's say there's enough nails to warrant three or four rounds of prying. And of course, I'll give you something else to keep you occupied in the meantime... but not just yet.

Hmm, I didn't mean to disarm Meldorac in the illusion as well. Just as well I didn't take Aram's sword.
Edit: Seems it won't matter though...
