Ok, I think I am tempted to go with a different package for equipment now I've seen the options again - armour, two weapons and two items package this time around What properties does armour have? It seems to be additional toughness, yes? What category does a shield come under? Does a shield add toughness or does it add combat dice? Is a helmet part of armour, or a separate item? Is there any penalty for heavier armour? I think I'd like: Sword (weapon) Knife (weapon) Helmet (item?) Shield (item?) Medium chainmail armour (armour ) Yeah, let's place a combat-ish class to back up/replace Aram and Naseir. Skills: Umm, I seem to recall there being three skill slots, yet I only ever had two... darn, better go check in my old account! Shieldskill/shieldbutt: Being able to use a shield aswell as a normal weapon in comabt effectively. So depending on the normal bonus of the shield, I'd like to be able to drop that during a round of combat for an alternate ability. For example, extra combat die fto simulate using it as an attacking weapon too, or extra +1 to damage that round (same), or extra +1 toughness die (better control for defense. Something like that! Tactically aware: Somehow gain some benefit around combat for having a high mental score. So maybe out of combat get the chance to make a mental roll to spot ambush or surprise attack. and maybe when making/opposing a combat dodge, be able to make a mental roll in order to resist one switch up. What do you think?

What properties does armour have? It seems to be additional toughness, yes? It depends on how I feel at the time I give it ^_^ Armour either adds toughness dice, lowers the DC needed to resist damage, or prevents a certain amount of damage each scene. Shields and helmets are the same as armour, though I think from now on I'm going to include helmets as part of an armour, rather than a seperate piece. Shields give you an extra toughness die IF you sacrifice a saved number in combat for it. Sword would be +2 Damage Knife would be +1 die in combat Chainmail and helm will add +1 die to toughness Shield gives you an extra die to toughness IF you sacrifice a saved number in combat Since the helm is counted as part of the armour, go ahead and take another item. A new character creation rule (around Aram's time) states that you only get to start with two skills, but a maximum of the number of skill points you have. You only have 1 skill point, so you only get 1 skill. So choose from the below: Well, the obvious answer would be to give you the +1 toughness bonus without needing to use a saved number. You still can't use a two-handed weapon with the shield, though. Naseir had this one. What I let it do was, with a mental roll, he could get hints or information on the best way to approach a situation or enemy. Essentially, it gives you a glimpse into what I'm thinking, giving you opportunities to get out of combat easier or realize an enemy's weakness.

Let's say swords, daggers, light armour (and we'll count the chainmail and shield as light armour)

I just realised I kept the handcuffs and key from when I thought Mowyer was going to be a guard. Can I swap that to a rope for the start of the scene proper?

Yeah, let's say you take the rope from the broken lift. AND you can keep the handcuffs and key.
