Putting on the necklace gives you a superior sense of clarity. You see the guards for what they truly are, Screamers in disguise. You also see several other strange things about the room. A dark cloud surrounds Aram, for one thing. Mowyer's eyes glow red and her skin appears alabaster white. You're not sure whether to call it beautiful or terrifying. Gregor seems a tired, mishapen, creature to your new vision... something weak that shall soon expire if not cared for. Yet you also have a strange contempt for the man.
Staring at the rebels gives you an extreme overplay of colours and emotions that you wish you had the time and energy to explore more deeply. For the time being, you are sure that the Screamers will obey your commands. You also sense you will need them to come with you... they shall be needed on the path out of the castle.
Another thing in the room catches your attention, in the truest sense of the word. Your head is literally focused, as if by some outside force, on a table in one corner of the room. Staring at it, you see it is loaded with instruments, like needles attached to strange devices almost like the guns of the Borese dwarves. You know that these instruments, too, are highly valuable to your quest.

Owain wills the servant to go to the table and fetch one of the instruments.

The initial test successful, Owain tries something more difficult. This time he attempts to control the two servants together, impelling them to each place one hand in the indentations beside the secret door simultaneously.
