Becoming more and more a genuinely shocked onlooker at every passing moment, Lukav watches the unfolding incident in disbelief.
The guard captain's tone was not unreasonable - what are these people doing!?

Still holding his rifle, Dirk leans over as best he can to Callum.
"Now Callum, me lad. I get your a fine example of chivalry to your homeland, but best we be on our way, eh?"
As all focus seems to be on the Knight, Dirk starts to slink away to the door held open by the innkeeper.

Sir Callum keeps up the aggression, luring the eye of the captain hopefully away from his retreating companion

With a muttered curse, Coll spins and dashes towards the door in the wake of Randal.

As the majority of you break for the kitchen door, you hear the captain shout at his men to stop you. Quickly they follow.
Once in the kitchen, the innkeeper tells you to go out the back door quickly; he indicates that that is where Drayden fled.
Back in the common room, the guard captain raises his weapon and sneers at Callum. "Defy me, would you, Northerner scum? You will pay a hefty price for that!" He swings his sword at Callum's head.
Callum, pick a random number - the fight is on!

Sir Callum moves to intercept the men but curses as the captain engages him directly. "Virtue will out!" screams the knight. Guard Captain - 1st round (1d10=6) - Callum will still be aiming to do non-lethal damage with shield bashing and flat of the blade.

Randal keeps his head down and his legs pumping furiously as he sprints in what he hopes is the same direction the priest took a few moments earlier. He prays the knight's insane behaviour will buy him the time he needs to escape.

While the innkeeper points the way, Coll pauses for a moment to draw his sword in preparation for any surprises beyond the walls of the tavern, and then promptly races forward on the heels of Randal.

Lukav realises that the situation has just gone from serious to very serious; it looks certain that someone is going to get hurt, perhaps badly hurt, perhaps even killed, and if this lunatic Sommlending knight manages to even slightly wound the guard captain and then fail to escape, the justice applied to him will likely be brutal.
Feeling certain that he is going to regret it, Lukav jumps to his feet and turns to speak urgently to one of the guard.

Just before he reaches the door, Dirk turns and gets down on one knee. Hefting his rifle, he pauses for a split-second to aim at the incoming guards. With a sly smile he gently squeezes the trigger. Random number - 1d10=5

Ok. I'm going to use a rule from the Mongoose game: combat proceeds in order of Combat Skill.
Dirk runs for the door, turns and fires his rifle at one of the guards. The sudden BOOM! stuns everyone until the silence is broken by a yelp of pain: the shot hit one of the guards in the shoulder.
Callum defends himself against the oncoming guard captain, blocking his blows with expert ease. However he does suffer a nick to his arm: lose 1 Endurance.
Coll runs for the back door, drawing his blade as he goes.
Lukav turns to the nearest guard but, due to the fighting now raging aorund him, the guard lashes out with his mace and cathces Lukav a glancing blow: Lose 3 Endurance.
Randal bolts for the door, following behind Coll.

Sir Callum hears the cry and yells, "Get behind me!" to Lukav. He turns slightly in combat realising the others will have to look to themselves. "Stand down and we will come with you! We shall not be herded and treated like common criminals!" Captain combat - round 2 (1d10=10) - woohoo, no damage this round!

Suprised to see the milita men continue towards him, Dirk reloads and takes another shot. 1d10=10, which equals a 0 in this case, I guess?

The deafening boom, the cloud of smoke and the heavy clout across the shoulder somewhat lessens the effectiveness of Lukav's attempt to explain the situation to the guard. As he stumbles bewilderedly backwards, Lukav wonders if the knight, suddenly standing in a blue-grey haze, might be yelling something at him, but his ears are ringing so much from the bang that he can't be sure. He glances quickly at the roof, half expecting to see it collapsing, but when it appears not to be he looks desperately around for the best way to escape the inn. Checking any possible exits, preferably away from where the bang and the cloud of smoke came from!

The guards hesitate as they see Dirk reloading his rifle. A couple of them break and flee, scared off, but the other remain, though they seem to be unsure of what to do.
The guard captain heres Callums shout but ignores it - now fired up and with his adrenaline pumping, the captain lashes out again. Callum blocks the blow with ease and hits the captain with the flat of his blade square in the side of the head, sending him crumbling to the floor, unconcious.
Coll, followed by Randal, both exit through the back door and into an alley that runs off to the right. There is no sign of the priest.
Lukav sees the couple of guards that fled through the front door of the inn and realizes that is the closest exit.
The guard captain is down, the other guards are now hesitating, and Coll & Randal have made it out of the tavern.
