This is our PM thread. Anything secret you want to do, post it here.
We'll start with history and goals.
There comes a time in every Cener's life when they must leave their laboratories and dungeons and head out into the world to cause real havoc and thus prove themselves to their elders (always good to have your plagued elders looking favourably towards you).
That time, for you, has come.
The merchant city of Oasis has been struck with plague. This plague distorts the mind and bodies of the living, twisting them into powerful monsters intent on devouring anything uninfected they come into contact with. The plague is easily spread through saliva, sweat, and blood. A mere touch can be enough to transmit it. It is also highly virulent, and without living flesh to feast upon, burns out in a matter of days. Sommerlund, most likely, does not have these facts. But the Ceners have been watching, and they are very alert.
Something else Sommerlund doesn't know is that this is no ordinary disease. It has been twisted by a powerful and evil artifact kept within the center of Oasis. Though it's exact nature is unknown, this artifact is assuredly empowering the disease, and the Ceners want it. You will retrieve it for them.
To this end, you infiltrated a group of investigators sent to Oasis. Your particular target was an Herbalish. It turned out the order had sent two. You've taken the place of one. As for the other... well, one of the six members of the team won't be making it.
With the two healers dead, and you having assumed the identity of one of them, your way into Oasis is secured. Once there, you have to make your way to the center of the city, secure the artifact, and escape.
There's also a chance here for you to become very powerful. If you are able to bring the plague into your body and assimilate it without losing your mind, you will transcend this existence and become something... incredible.
You'll have to try to keep this personal goal to yourself, though. Not only would it alert the unsuspecting to your true identity, but there is another Cener on the team. You don't know who it is, but you imagine this Cener is there to keep an eye on you. Maybe not, though. Maybe it's an unassuming initiate like yourself. In any case, use this knowledge as you will. You could either try to locate this Cener and pool your resources against the party, or you could use his identity to benefit you. Maybe he'd make a good scapegoat if things ever came to accusations.
As for the other party members, they are expendable. They'd make for good studies of the plague's effect. Also a good study of the psychological effect of stress on a group.
Summary of goals: Make your way to the center of Oasis and retrieve the artifact that's causing the plague. Try to keep your identity a secret. It's doubtful the group would trust you long enough to keep their blades sheathed if your true nature were to be revealed.
Another Cener is in the group. It may be a good idea to try and make contact with this Cener so that you both don't work towards the same goal (and end up inadvertently killing each other along the way).
At the same time, you might want to try and better your own powers along the way by assimilating the plague. If you manage to let your infection level rise to the maximum (currently set at 20) and retain your sanity, instead of turning into an uncontrollable monster, you would become as powerful as the High Druids.
