If Meldorac primes Trenton with a story ahead of time (say when they are standing guard at the door) can Meldorac use Trenton's belief to aid in any skill rolls needed to remain convincing to the rest? It seems to me, if the opportunity presents, Meldorac should at least pull Bonnie and Owain aside and weave a story of how Meldorac is with some hinted at only spy guild of the king's. That his mission is to discover an artifact in Oasis that might be the source of these occurences. That it was believed to have been taken from the town centre by the town's priest to either his temple or his dwelling, and that given the events happening, this may well be some cursed item that is generatign the seen effects. That way, Meldorac gets to put off the group, and maybe some rivals, off the scent of where the Finger of Kai really is and what the purpose of looking for it is. Then he can go head to the main town hall place while thye search for temples and priests when they get to Oasis, and if he gets caught with it has a 'noble' reason for putting them off track. Anyway, that's the medium term plan while in the house, will the firts step work mechanically - will ocnvincing Trenton of something give me any more dice? A hardened mercenery nodding his head and believing you must surely make you more convicining

Trenton is sort've a player tool, or player controlled NPC (if you can get your mind around that!) In effect, his only gameplay abilities are those noted in the ally profile. As far as story goes, you can use him however you'd like.
So my answer is this: descriptively, you can have him agree with you. You aren't going to get any extra dice unless you use Jack-of-all-trades, though.
If you want MY take on Trenton, I would say at this point he's pretty much YOUR NPC. He certainly likes you better than any of the others.

Ok, so I wouldn't get any defensive bluff dice unless it was Trenton doing stuff, but I'm perfectly free to use him nodding and agreeing in the narrative
