I'll be posting threat assessment results here.
For your current situation, the obvious things are thus:
1) get away from the door 2) don't let the light fail 3) keep the group close together
Less obvious things include:
1) maybe try to barricade the door, keeping in mind other entrances that could provide access point for the enemy 2) height is always a good thing, and the balconeys in this room provide it well. You may try to reach them 3) your current position has a lot of doors. That's a lot of fronts to fight on. Getting out of this room would serve a number of purposes. It would remove you further from the entry point of whatever is coming. It would maybe increase your tactical advantage in a better setting. You may also be able to hide and avoid confrontation.
A couple further things:
1) your enemy, judging from the sound he/she/it is making, is quite large. There's every possibility it won't be able to fit through the front door. Of course, it might be able to make it wider. 2) there was a back door to this place, that's how you got in. Escape, anyone? Then again, there are also more doors here than you remember.
