A set of quickstart player rules are now available for the fourth edition if anyone is availanble www.wizards.com/dnd/files/QuickStartRules.pdfAlso, two sets of podcats where the Penny Arcade guys and Scott Kurtz from PvP played through them are available on the WotC site. The second set guest stars Wil Wheaton! I would be very tempted to run a game still, players and my own time willing, and the shift to 4E with a more easygoing LW game seems doable. Certainly an interesting experiement.

Nice idea. Are you likely to start this while Zipp's game is in progress? I'd love to play some 4E but I'm double-booked as it is.

Not sure, Zipp's game is going on for a while so at some point they might have to cross. The reason for 'easygoing' would be to allow players to RP and for me to take the rules burden on if needed. Sort of how AS runs the casiorn challenge, if players say 'i do this' then AS will provide the rules breakdown of the actions.

What style of game are you considering?

The PvP is a good self contained setting for the GM, and also for the player to learn the system. They can concentrate on RP and are only really letting themselves down if they don't fully grasp a rule. And the game already sets the GM up as supporting the players anyway.
Something like Zipp's A Night to Remember with that same restricted setting and the same PvP element.

A Night to Remember....?
That's the decent Titanic movie. I'd rather watch it than that James Cameron shite, any day of the week.

I believe Redbeard had converted the Ragadorn Tavern game from the MC to d20 rules. Zipp then tweaked the game a little and we played through it.

Sounds like something that could be gotten through in one sitting if we were a P+P group, so it shouldn't interfere overmuch with my ability to contribute to the two games I'm already committed to.
Guess I'll sign up, as if there was ever any doubt I would.

Nah, just because they've streamlined it a bit doens't mean it's like that.
The skills I think have taken a little bit of a hit complexity wise, but not anything that wasn't the logical extention of things we even saw in the LW RPG.
Anyway, cool, I will see if I can work on what I have already and mod it.

I am going to pass, and not just because of my current commitments.
While there are a number of game systems out there that I think would make better Magnamund games than the existing LWRPG game, 4th Edition is not one of them...

Can't see a way to have low level characters for it. It sort of relied on having a level gap a bit wider, and higher level characters. I'd really need to invest in the books and just plot it out as a new adventure, adapting the character classes. Maerin might have the skills to do stuff like that (while holding down a very busy job no less) but it's beyond me!
Anyway,at some point I need to at least get it going as a normal LWRPG d20 game!
