In case it isn't immediately obvious in my post tonight, none of you actually know if what happened in Round 11 actually happened, because the effect described in the post happened right at the beginning of the Round. The effect also went right through your Will save resistances (even that of Ilia) like paper.... As what is happening now is within your own minds, we are temporarily out of "combat time"....indeed, separated from time entirely at the moment. Just in case any of you needed a reminder this WAS an Elder Magus....

I admit it, today's update took me completely by surprise. Good work, Maerin.
I'm going to enjoy thinking about Ector's reaction to all this.

It is one hell of a surprise, I can't even begin to fact this in to a response at the moment.

I didn't see it coming either.
Did Ilia's healing still take effect on me?
EDIT: Ah, I just realized what you were saying above. I guess I'll just have to wait to find out.

Maerin, this is the most messed up encounter I have ever seen, and I mean this in the best way possible! This totally took me by surprise!

That's a really vague post, Ector. It would be helpful if you were a bit more...direct...in roleplaying what exactly Ector is doing. Leaving vagueness up to my interpretation is not a very good plan.
Especially since the speaker is probably one of the worst protected people in the room at the moment....
I would further add that, if Ector could not "ID" the man before (during my GM posts last week), clearly the knight does not know who he is. So short of asking him or someone else the speaker's name (and until you create circumstances where that is even possible)...

Ector, in case you can come back to this today (since stalling is not very conducive to Ector's continued well-being): Ector examines himself carefully before deciding on his next step. In the real world he is far too injured to intervene in the battle one way or the other. But what of his form in this dreamscape? Aside from that dull pain in your chest I've described, you seem to be fine. Considering the injuries you left yourself with in the "real world", I suspect you would not even notice that dull pain in your chest in comparison...

"Still yet we need to return to Trusk in good time to save the lives of innocent there..." I think you mean Phoena, Karstan. All the innocents of Trusk are dead.... Karstan's life presently hangs on his words, so "mis-speaking" is probably not wise.

Where, Oh mighty GM, is Ector positioned relative to the scuffle at the podium? Can he simply advance on it or is he obstructed by the baying mob?

Where, Oh mighty GM, is Ector positioned relative to the scuffle at the podium? Can he simply advance on it or is he obstructed by the baying mob? Ector stood upon the stone floor of a familiar grand hall, the Hall of Electors in Vanamor. He stood near to the center of the hall, next to the Speaker’s Lectern. No obstruction, strictly speaking. You haven't moved. No one stands in the few feet between Ector and the Lectern.

Ah yes. I wasn't sure if that meant I was at ground level and the lectern was now surrounded by people between me and it.

Yes to the first, no to the second.

Confused, Ector sheathes his sword again and reaches out with his hand to touch the nearest combatant. For the sake of being able to do a bit more than that, Ector finds that the man he touches is there. For the sake of literal interpretation of your post, that would be one of the two men defending the third in the lectern. However, touching the man appears to elicit no response or reaction.
