Maerin laughs.
Don't worry about it. It's worth noting that Sense Motive is not any sort of mindreading skill, even if you do roll high. It's more appropriate for recognizing duplicity or sincerity than trying to guess at what the thoughts are behind the words spoken.
So far as Altor can tell, Aetos is acting genuine.
Since I have not approved your new character sheet yet, I'm using your old one for the purposes of the "hidden" skill checks. Altor has not noticed anything "wrong" about Aetos as yet.

Gather Information roll for inquiring around the new inn. With Castiel as my witness Nat 20! + 7 = 27.

A pity you're wasting the roll so badly.
Remember, your post indicates what you are asking around about. Right now, it sounds like you are asking "tell me something (without me saying what) about the herbalish" in an inn located their native land. That doesn't sound like a very productive way to spend an hour, doesn't it?
Also rather needless to say, they're rather common as you've probably noticed from past posts (this IS their homeland, after all...). So you hardly need to roll to "find one" (nor do you need to waste the hour of a Gather Information skill check to attempt such).

Players (not just Altor, who is only the latest offender),
I've reminded nearly all of you about this at this point, and should not have to. So this is my final warning.
Gather Information takes an hour and represents a general "information gathering" in a social crowd. It is not an attempt to solicit a single piece of information from a single person. That would be a function of the Diplomacy skill, and only if the NPC's opinion of the PC (if very positive or very negative) might specifically influence what sort of help is received. Needless to say, that means that virtually all general questions asked of a general NPC with a generally neutral attitude do not require a skill check at all.
This is my final reminder about following the True20 rules. Henceforth, disregardingly the rules gets your character "burned" by the GM's literal interpretation.

Once in his room, Altor will spend a conviction point to take 20 on Knowledge: World History. It is from the char sheet that is still being discussed as you asked me to resubmit (I may be taking a bit of a liberty here using this skill, please forgive!)
the purpose of this is to use my lore ability to enhance this skill, to determine what I know about the history of the Magnalord position and the current holder of it.
Once my prayers are over, I will head straight down to meet the rest of the companions.

First off, your character creation is approved, with the comments noted below. Go ahead and compile it into a new character sheet in your Character Creation thread for my final approval.
Knowledge (world history) is a rather intensely broad knowledge, particularly considering you have two more "finite" history Knowledges. That said, I'm fine with it, so long as you understand it is a broad understanding of literally thousands of years of history covering both Magnamund continents.
