What an excellent diary, Slavey! I am most impressed I definitely recognise the signs of Corruption when I see it and it seems that the Lord of Insanity is now sharing brain-space with the Lord of Murder in the baron's head! (Incidentally, I believe that "plow" is the American English spelling of "plough".)

Thanks for the compliment and the linquistic help Yes, I was a bit confused about the spelling, but I had to take the names of the months from Wikipedia, and they apparently only have american editors... I always thought that "plow" was the act of plowing, while "plough" was the thing you use for plowing. But I'll try to stick to the Old World English, to the best of my abilities - no offense to the colonial... sorry, americans

Dear god, I forgot to compliment you too in my planning post Indeed, that was a nicely plotty and more importantly dark slice of insight into the man's mind. I loved it. Keep it up!

Yup brilliant piece of writing but I believe there's a typo there. Matino once again forgot his place, but now I think he has lost his senses. She had the nerve to say to me that Lydia was dead! The man is clearly mad, and by rights I should let him be the next sacrifice to Xhagvash. But his work is important and can be of great value to our masters. In the end, I simply let him feel the fires of Xhagvash on his back, and instructed him to keep silent about his madness.

Oh, um... er, perhaps he thought that Matino was acting like an old woman?

Indeed, a most excellent account of the baron since he received the gem. So what does evryone want to do? Id suggest heading back to Ruiger with the new info but stopping by the shrine first to check it out.

I think the shrine is in the wrong direction, and keeps us in the area. We should either fully persue him or head right back.
I would say head right back (I think that's what I said on the previous page)

Still with you guys, just a bit busy at the moment. But I take it you want to go back and tell Ruiger?

Yea, back to Ruiger please.
When we go back, this is not a "tail between the legs" thing, it's a "regroup and plan our next step" thing.
Are we stopping at the shrine, or going to Ruiger then the shrine?

I see no reason to stop at the shrine really, it's out of the way and while me might learn 'yes, ishir told the baron to go to the danarg instead' more likely he will carry on to dessi
I think the question is more 'do we stop at oakton, find the priest, and recover taden/clear our name. I think it's worthwhile, if our name becomes mud it will make moving around this area really hard - after all, it might look like we killed the baron, and that won't be tolerated!
Immediate goals - get our horses, find Corwyn, check he's ok now, fill hmin on stuff and be filled in!

To be fair DS, us Darklanders probably couldnt give a nuts about your - or indeed our - reputation, and the same goes for Tadens well being. I know we're sposed to be "undercover" here, but if we have to slit a few throats to get where we need to, then we generally wont care. I know Ive been trying to play SS with a more Lawful mindset, but since such moral axis doesnt exist in this game-world (as we've stated its pretty much Good, Evil and Somewhere In-Between), then us proper Evil folks would be of the "And what are you gonna do about it?" mindset. If we were mostly Balance chara's, then maybe name-clearing could be considered. OOC, I see your point, but IC your in a minority hear dude

Lol, and thanks to Dirac's lower charisma, as much as he would whine he'll buckle down and go where you lead.
I am playing Dirac balanced for the moment, but he is leaning towards the selfish. While there will be prickles of conscience, the main drive will be we still have to operate in this area, and if we are accused of killing or even toppling a major figure of power, then that could see our deaths or at the very least see us blocked. One of the problems of being a Shadakine I would imagine is having to have all that suspicion and bad will from Northerners to overcome, Dirac would not want to return to those times anytime soon.
Anyway, so the vote seems to be whether we go directly back to Ruigar of go back via the shrine then - unless our two companions have a wildly different plan? I still say directly back then, avoiding the village and the outskirts.
