Cause every board needs an OOC thread! Use this as a general chat area, or to ask questions about the game or rules.

I need one of my players to volunteer to play a double agent, kind've a dual character. You'll be giving up some of your character's history and concept to my direction, which is why I ask for a volunteer. Of course, you'll still get to create a false persona, flesh out the concept I present, and have plenty of role playing (maybe even more intense roleplaying in the game.
If you are interested, PM me.
If no-one volunteers, the game will continue as normal, so don't feel overly obligated.
And of course, none of you except the double agent will know who it is... or if there even is one.

First of all, read the above message... it's important ^_^
Secondly, I've been informed by Doomy that the boards I created to be hidden are viewable by site staff... like Doomy.
Beowuuf, you know the mechanics here better than I do... is there a way around this? Probably not, I'd imagine. We might just have to trust everyone to be... trustworthy.
I'd actually have no problem trusting you guys. You wouldn't peek... right?
I really DONT want to have to use PMs... the boards are much easier to navigate, and let me keep the information in one easily accesible place.
I remember keeping track of PMs when I ran the Ragadorn game... ugh, it was TERRIBLE. Not the game... I actually think that worked quite well. But it was extremely painful to keep track of.

What I'm thinking right now is that I should just keep things the way they are. I mean, the only people who shouldn't see the secret posts are the people in this game, and we all know each other well enough to trust each other.
I mean, if you look at the secrets, you'll be breaking the game for yourself. Part of the fun is going to be not knowing what's going on with the other players. You'd just be hurting your own enjoyment.
I suppose I can put a password on the boards, though, for those that just don't like that temptation ^_^
Ah, if only God had put barbed wire around the damned tree

He did, it used to be adam, eve and steve in the garden, but eve distracted steve so adam could shove him int othe barbed wire, then adam and even had a nice little bridge to use to get the fruit And thus was born human ingenuity and the concept of a zero sum game

The problem is not player trustworthiness - without a password lock the posts show up in the "most recent activity" window - you don't even need to visit the secret area of the forum. This makes it easy for staff to read secret posts without realising until it's too late.

I believe there are password locks now, so hopefully that will stop accidental browsing

As little as possible. I stopped reading the secret stuff as soon as I knew I shouldn't be reading it, which was somewhere around the first paragraph.
All I saw is in this thread, so I have no unfair advantages.

Okay, here's what's left for each character: Beowuuf (Dirac) is done Evil TB (Gregor) hasn't started. I actually haven't heard from him for a couple days, and I'm not sure where he went. Doomy (priest of Ishir) hasn't started, though now he should have everything he needs, so that shouldn't take long. Aguila Saber ( ) hasn't posted here yet, and I'm not sure he's playing. Hopefully he is. And now introducing the formidable Agrarvyn! I just need a character concept from you, oh Dark Lord, so that I can set up a board for ya. Remember, too, with your concepts, that you do not have to be good aligned to play this one. That said, I like all the concepts I've seen so far.

I'm here...
How long character description do you want?
Do you want it split in a public part (easy for anyone to see) and secret part?
Are we talking a small, medium, large or huge description ?
I assume you need the character values for combat, mental, toughness and skill as well ? It is one each of superb, great, average and poor, correct?

So far, everyone's character creation is confined to their private boards. I daresay some information will be made public once it is finalized. My bio is currently just a few short paragraphs, can't speak for anyone else's obviously. Yes, the stats are one each in the range 1-4.

I assume you need the character values for combat, mental, toughness and skill as well ? It is one each of superb, great, average and poor, correct? I'll set you up with a board in a little bit here. On that board you'll need the following: 1) The four basic stats with corresponding values of your choice (4, 3, 2, 1). The stats are Combat, Mental, Tough, Skill. All are useful. Combat will be your friend when trying to kill things. Mental will help you boost your damage with your magical skills (as well as use long range attacks like fireballs or helpful things like healing) and resist insanity and other magics. Tough keeps you alive. Skill is anytime you try to do anything non-combat related that is difficult. 2) Come up with some idea of what starting abilities you'd like. Then we'll work them into the system. Along with this come up with your character's weapon proficiencies and armour proficincies (if any). 3) Come up with a character concept and history. To answer your question, this can be as detailed as you want. The reasons for you getting into this adventure leave to me, though, as that will be part of your secret history and goals. Histories should be posted on the boards I'll set up for you. Other players shouldn't know your history, unless you decide to tell them (and then they don't know whether to trust you). 4) Choose your starting items. You have to choose from the following sets: Set 1: 1 weapon 1 back pack 5 items Set 2: 2 weapons 2 items 1 armour Set 3: 1 weapon 1 armour 1 back pack 1 item Basically tell me what you'd like, and I'll make any changes as neccesary and give you the stats.

Hi! With a cleric-analogue and a Herbalish I reckon we've got healing sown up between us. But who'll be doing our killing?
