Sorry to throw a spanner in the works, but I'll be away for a few days for New Year. I may be able to get on the Internet a few times, but I can't count on a regular daily time. Zipp, if you can bear with me, I'll try to maintain a toe in the door, as it were.

It is always, always weird to see Eshnar's name innocently plastered anywhere
I have the start of a bad cold and also I should really be preparing for audit mid month next month - but I should be ok for a decent level of participation!

Also Michael (the character, not the player ), your avatar looks like Smallvilles Tom Welling but with some weird face paint. Was that intentional?

Stop pestering the poor scholar. I convinced him to play someone other than Dirac, for the sake of... you know, not playing the same character that he's played in another game.
Because many of you may not survive this. At all. And then there'd be a time paradox.
@ Michael of Eshnar: It would be cool if we could finish character creation in the next couple of days, but I figure after that there might well be a bit of a holiday break.
I'd like to start the game by January 4th, if possible. If you're going to be gone for longer than that, I can postpone it a bit. What's your schedule look like?

The way things are going to work out for me this New Year, I can probably manage a post on the 4th but the next couple of days could be doubtful. Normal posting will definitely be resumed by January 5, which, coincidentally, is when Maerin will be restarting his game. Zipp - of your five players, four are in the UK and the other is on Central European Time. You've said you'd like a three-posts-per-day cycle. Are you still planning it that way? It might not be feasible unless you're planning on becoming nocturnal.

I changed that silly desire to more of a "please check every day so we don't get stuck" principle.
Basically, I'm just trying to avoid the scenario wherein I post and then it's three days before everyone responds. Especially during combat, this could slow things down massively.
On my end, I'm planning on doing some things to help this along. For one, most conversations with NPCs won't be sentence by sentence, but will be more of a "what information are you trying to get out of this guy" and then "here's what you get," which removes the danger for every passerby on a street to become a game stopper.
I may even, in combat, ask for actions a few rounds at a time, to keep things speedy, but I'm waiting until we've had a few combats to decide this. I don't want to remove the tactical thrill of having to change your strategy based on the situation. On the other hand, having to map out a strategy for several turns at a time could be exhilirating.

That sounds much more realistic. Since you've managed to gather most of the top TotS posters into one game a post or two per day shouldn't be a big ask.

not even being delirious earlier stops me from checking here On the contrary, I think being delirious would be exactly in character for this game.

Woohoo!
Reminds me of the KDJT (the getting stuff early). I puled all the moves ahead of time, ad et people intelligently change moves each day. I see no problem, it ensures the game goes smoothly, yet there is the provision to adjust tactically if we have the time and commitment to the situation

I know I'll facepalm as soon as you remind me, it's on the tip of my tongue...)
