True, but then that is the mental stat - the ability of the character, amoungst other things, to keep a rational and logical train of thought going when a swift succession of strange things keep happening.
I think the first few stages are simple preparation for beginning to act irrationally, and the scream the very first primer in that harmless ramp up.
So, finding a dead body in the wild wouldn't sent a border ranger insane. However,an unusual dead body and several other strange occurrances in a tense environment might lead a more suggestable one to reach for enemies they have no proof of. Like a troop of stealthy giaks that no one believes exist.
Also, I guess Experience is a retroactive way of achieving the effect you want. If you play your character well, you get experience, and you can remove the insanity points to show your character was not affected by the previous actions.

Now that everyone's basic stats are visible, it is interesting to note that both the most vocal critic of the insanity system and its most vocal defender are playing the characters most likely to go mad.

Maybe I'm vocal about it because there is a hidden insanity score? MAYBE I'M INSANE ALREADY! To be fair, I think Bonnie is just saying that the scream was not an insanity triggering event, not complaining about the system as a whole

I've decided I'd like everyone to keep their insanity scores in their sigs. This includes current points as well as levels.

EXP spending for Prologue for Bonnie. Skill = 4, so 4 EXP.
2 EXP to lower Trauma to none. 2 EXP saved.

Owain will save the 4 EXP gained so far.

Saving EXP for now, though if we take the mercenary Meldorac would like to start practicing with his short sword and asking the mercenary for help with that during any breaks.

I've decided not to do EXP based on the scene number. That was a hold over from the last game I used these rules in, which was only five scenes long, so it worked out well. But knowing me and my interactions with the Tower of the Sun, this game will probably go on quite a bit longer, so I'm gonna award extra EXP based on how difficult the scene was (otherwise we could reach 20+ EXP per scene quite fast). You'll still get EXP for the most used stat, though.
In any case, it doesn't change the current awarding of EXP, so carry on! Just thought people might want to know. I said there would be some minor rules tweaking here and there, just keeping you all informed.

Do you want us to keep our EXP totals in our sigs or just our character sheets?

I like the various personalities that are building up here. Everyone's pretty unique, and I imagine will both fit together and clash in unexpected ways.
I expect the unexpected.
As for EXP, no need to keep it in your sigs, just your personal boards. The sig might be easier for your own reference, though, so feel free to keep it there if you wish.

Right.
My character knows way too little about you and does not even know what whoever sent you asked you to assist with on this mission.
My character will will want to have a chat with each of you privately without the other listening in. She will simply seek you out on one of those occassions where you have fallen a little behind the rest or the other peoples are engaged in other activities and strike up a conversation.
I guess PM backs and forward would be the best way to get to know you, as trying to converse in the main thread will be impossible. We are breaking scenes too quickly, and besides the conversation should be private.
Zipp: At what level would you want to be informed of this interchange? You want copies? Briefed about secrets revealed and lies told? Rather not know at all what is discussed?
I guess first dibs for making themselves available goes to the healers since Bonnie probably has more questions to you than to the others.

I'm online now, PM me with your (IC?) questions and I will add replies.
Edit: Oops, send your PM to Owain! I'm always doing that...

I would have to assume Zipp needs to know everything we PM to each other, since scenes need to move forward and occasionally our characters moved forwards. I'm around, but beware I wanted my character to be a little standoffish (nothing even to do with game tactics, though it can't hurt!)

Simple enough, all we need to do is keep the entire conversation in a single PM and forward it to Zipp, or failing that make a text file and email it in. Certainly, I expect a GM would expect to be aware of every action a character takes.

Actually, what you'd need to do if you are lying or detecting lies would be to put a copy into your private forum, and annotate it with any required skill rolls or ability use!
