"So I've heard," says Sir Aram. "My sister said the same in a letter she wrote me. I don't remember which White section she lives in, but I've got her letter in my saddlebags with her address written on it." He slaps his forehead. "Blast, that's right! My original steed was lost back at the house, along with everything in the bags." He sighs. "I'm sure I'll figure it out in time, but let's not just stand around here. Daylight is fading, it has started to rain, and I know I'm not the only one who's hungry."

"I know I'm famished," says Owain to Aram. "And Meldorac's plan for us to approach the Citadel together seems like a good one. If you wish to go to Sherri's house for a meal and some rest, I will go with you."

Bonnie says. "Show us to your mother's place. Seems it has been decided it is out next stop."

Sherri seems relieved that this is their decision. "How about we stable the horse, then?" she suggests. "We're not really supposed to ride them through the city without permission."
One thing was sure: Oasis had a lot of rules.

"No," says Meldorac, although his tone of voice is by no means snapping off a command to the group. It tails off as if he is thinking something through, "how about we keep our mounts until someone shows themselves. Perhaps someone in authority to explain the rules to us? Let's not disadvantage ourselves to satisfy a phantom authority that may not govern anymore."

Gregor squeezes Sherris hand in a reassuring manner.
"Sherri, dont worry. We'll keep our horses until we get closer to your house. Besides we have enough authority between us to successfully answer any challenge of authority."

"Those under seige may well not feel as loyal to a king who gives them a ragtag group of four for support," mutters Meldorac to himself, although he realises Aram may well have heard him.

Agh, double post! Okay, I've re-posted to keep things in the proper order.
Sherri seemed uncomfortable with the suggestion that they disobey the rules of Oasis, even though Meldorac's words were completely accurate: they hadn't seen any sign of a living person, let alone an authoritarian, since entering. Sherri also seemed to realize she didn't really have a choice in the matter, so she started to lead the companions down the blue path.
At first, Sherri kept up a constant, if quiet, string of dialogue. She explained that the city, as the companions all saw from the hill, is built on a slope that had been leveled out into seven steps. She also explained that the city was separated into sectors by three gates. The first three steps were within one gate, the next four within a second gate. The final gate encircled the Citadel, on the seventh step, enclosing it as its own sector. She also explained that her house was located in the first sector, on the second step, in the third green area. After she rattled off this string of designations, she looked a little embarrassed.
"That's how we give directions here," she explained, blushing. "It's actually quite helpful, once you get used to it."
After this, she stopped speaking, and the companions traveled in silence. Though Sherri had agreed to them taking their horses, she seemed reluctant to go down any street marked with a color higher than Green, her clearance. Around them, the streets were a continuous string of dark houses. They didn't see a single person, though each of them had a strange feeling they were being watched.
Some of you notice some things during the ride. Check your boards a little bit after this post.
They were traveling North-East through a blue section of town (the flags on the street were blue and marked with a number five) when they heard a cry coming from an ally from their left. It sounded like a cry for help.
The rain still falls in a drizzle, as if it hasn't decided yet whether it wants to truly pour.
The ally is tight, but you could probably get your horses in. It would be tough to turn them around in the ally, though. It would take some effort and co-ordination. No quick escapes the way you've come, if you take the horses.

Meldorac drops from his horse and puts a hand to his dagger, although he makes no indication if he is getting ready to rush down the alley, is allow the knight to do something foolhardy on his own, or is preparing to look around behind them in case of a sneak attack.

Gregor dismounts and hefts his spear. He beckons Sherri towards him, placing her between himself and the horse as best as possible.

"It sounds like someone needs rescuing. After you, Sir Knight," says Owain to Aram, clearly expecting the Sommlending Knight to do the chivalrous thing.

Sir Aram also dismounts. "Whoever is remaining behind, hold the horses," he says. He nods to Owain, drawing his sword and leading the way into the alley. "Follow me."

Meldorac shifts uncomfortably at having Bonnie close by, but takes up an intelligent position to the other side of her so combined they cover both directions of the party's rear effectively. He does not diegn to grip a horse's rein, however.
