Since everyone is busy right now, there are no meatshields available to hide behind while casting defensive magic. So Owain will have to defend himself this round. Will use the +1 COMBAT bonus from the quarterstaff."In Ishir's name, get back!" shouts Owain as he readies his quarterstaff and brings it down on the head of the closest of the horde. 9,9,13. Used like so: 13, 9 (9 saved).

"Messengers of the king! MESSENGERS OF THE KING!" yells Meldorac to the uncomprehending horde. He tries to move out of reach of the corpulent masses and swaps his dagger to his off hand, brandishing it while fishing for the sap he created out of his belt pouch in what seems an age ago. Dodge roll without dagger against the horde (1d20=18, 1d20=8, 1d20=11, 1d20=1)Despite the falling out the window yet still walking trick, Meldorac is still willing to think of these masses as people instead of scary zombie things. Infact, that's a more comforting thought.
1, 18+11 - 8 used to resist switch up.

Fuckturtles, I always forget about that!! My heads still stuck in D20 in respect of combat! Ok well bollocks to it I'll take the stress.... I just cant see how you can ever cast a defensive spell when someone attacks you??? Do you still need a combat roll from me then?[/color]

Yes, Zipp did ask for COMBAT rolls from everyone being attacked. I guess you need to cast your defensive spells before you're attacked to avoid the stress.

As far as actions go, I'm also always open to discussion. This is very much an "argue your position" kind of game, in which I'm willing to change the situation based on how well you can describe what your character does. In this case, Bonnie brought up a good point: Gregor was further away than the others. So I'm gonna let you skip the stress cost and cast the spell for free this round. You still need to give me some combat dice, though.

Either the scream was meant to rob us of our normal chance to react to the combat before us, or maybe that will be relaxed.
Gregor, if you are casting a defensive magic, you might be able to make a dodge combat roll (+1 die) instead while casting your spell.
How great is the effect? One group or can you push away all three sets of the mob?
Edit: I'll stop posting, seem to keep hitting double posts!

Meldorac dances around the group, trying to rush in to the building. "MESSENGERS OF THE KING!" he yells again, though less panicked and more as if trying to ge the attention of the group.
Right, assuming he can manage it, Meldorac's plan is to rush in to the building, drawing the crowd. He'll try to make it to the broken window, which is now conveniently opened plus has hopefully some nice jagged areas to loop a rope around.
He'll then tie a quick knot, and jump/abseil out. At worst, he avoids a round of combat them gets himself in to a higher elevation to strike out at the mob without getting swarmed or touched by their grubby mits.
At best, he draws them aay from the rest, so Gregor and Bonnie can do some damage or get those horses back or find a route to escape with.
Maybe.

When hearing Meldorac's yell. Bonnie echoes his cries by repeating over and over:
"For Sommerlund! Royal emissaries! Captial offence to hinder! Move away!"

Need Gregor's combat roll. Keep in mind, Gregor, I'm letting you get defensive shield for free, so you get your +2 to toughness for that against the horde 10/10. But, er, deflecting hand is an automatic effect, I think. So are those dice your attack dice? Just clarify for me.

Round Results Gregor's shield activated just in time. The horde fell upon him not an instant later. A good half of them found they couldn't reach Gregor, held off as they were by his defensive magic. They stood bare feet away, snapping their jaws and waving their hands, but they couldn't reach him. Their numbers were too great for his magic though, and four got through the shield, falling upon him. He struck about him with his spear, but the crazed citizens ignored the blows, scratching at his face and robes with bloodied nails.
With blood in his eyes, Gregor tried to get a handle on the situation. Ahead of him, he saw Meldorac disappear into a mob of people. He didn't see him emerge. Nearby, a man swung at Bonnie with a butcher knife. She side-stepped and cut down with her sword, removing his arm at the elbow. He didn't pause but turned to her with a snarl and pressed his attack.
In response, Bonnie turned and ran for the house across the street. Half a dozen of the mob followed her. Gregor heard her crying something, but he couldn't make it out. Sherri was screaming behind him, drowning out all other sounds.
Meanwhile, in the alley, Owain had decided that the people were beyond his help. His first blow with the quarterstaff crushed in the head of the man with the brick. Backing away from a wild swing by someone who moved to take his place, Owain swung again. Another head burst like a grapefruit, spraying him with ichor.
Behind him, Aram was still struggling against his captor. Owain wanted to help him, but the remainder of the citizens pushed forward, engaging him.
Horde 1 (owain): 4, 7 Horde 2 (meldorac): 11+6 Horde 3 (bonnie): being led by Bonnie Horde 4 (Gregor): 14+13, 20
Owain (horde 1): 13, 9 (13 saved) Meldorac (dodge horde 2): 1, 18+11 (8 used to resist switch up.) Gregor (horde 4): 20, 17, 14, save the 11. (also cast shield) Bonnie (baiting horde 3): farewell, lovely lass Aram (breaking free): three successes
Horde 1's attack against Owain is a massive failure with the help of Owain's saved number. Owain gets two successes, so horde 1 takes 2 damage. Aram, nearby, is halfway to breaking free of his living chains.
Horde 2 also fails to hit Meldorac, thanks to his 1. He dodges successfully. Meldorac, since you dodged, I need to know where your character is going. Essentially, tell me what your dodge accomplished... or what you'd like it to accomplish, rather.
Moving on, Horde 3 is led away by Bonnie, and Bonnie is led away by her player, so bid farewell to the both of them. Bonnie, if you do wish to rejoin the game at some point, let me know and Bonnie can re-enter the group, or you can start a new character.
As far as Bonnie's goals go, be assured that if she was the sneaky Cener, you'll be having a deadly NPC fight at some point in the near future...
Finishing up with Gregor, you were hit by the horde attacking you, for a total of 4 damage. Good thing you cast the defensive spell. You get +2 to your toughness roll for resisting damage. Go ahead and roll it.
For next round, Horde 1 is targeting Owain still, so Owain has to roll combat against them. Aram is still trying to free himself. Horde 2 and Horde 4's actions depend on what Meldorac's dodge was meant to accomplish. I imagine it might buy you a chance to regroup and come up with some sort of plan. Gregor, hold off on announcing new actions until we figure that out. Feel free to continue posting, of course.

It's a shame about Bonnie deciding not to continue. On the bright side, it looks like a brand new TotSer wants in. Check your signup thread, Zipp.
If Gregor got a free defensive spell, how about Owain's Faithshield?
Anyway, combat roll: 10, 12, 4. Oh dear.
Use as 16 (12+4) and save the 10.Owain desperately defends himself against the horde's attacks, thrusting out with his staff as soon as an opening presents itself.

Your case is a little more difficult than Gregor's, because you're on your own (for now). Once Aram gets free, he can distract the horde with his mighty blade while you cast spells.

With a powerful bellow, Aram goes to town on the screaming creature that used to be a girl. He kicks it, he bludgeons it, he head-butts it, and he slices it with reckless abandon. Tensing his muscles, he makes a ferocious effort and dislodges himself from its iron grip, then hacks it to pieces with his sword. Panting heavily, he finally realizes that he has slain his foe and stops carving up the corpse. His bloodlust not yet fully sated, he looks around for more enemies. And I'm free! Woohoo! ;DCOMBAT roll (4 dice) trying to break free, round 2 (DC 12, 3 more successes needed overall) (1d20=6, 1d20=16, 1d20=15, 1d20=13)
