Hm, I can't smell anything. Are you sure you're not imagining things? Anyway, that's where the way out lies, so we have to go that way.

Then we go onward, thinks Aram, advancing down the hall, trying to be as stealthy as his bulk allows.

Despite the voice's insistence that all was well, Aram felt an unease that he knew was born of experience. There was danger ahead, he was sure of it. Thus he moved slowly and thanked himself for it when he came around a dark corner to have his torchlight shine upon a large wolf-like creature in the middle of the narrow hallway.
It had fur that seemed wet and shiny, except for the legs which looked shaven. A four legged creature, it was easily twice as large as the largest dog he'd ever seen, and that included Doomwolves. Aram cautiously raised his light to see it better and noticed, with disgust, that its eyes had rotted away and a pinkish liquid was seeping out of the holes. The creature snapped once, but then whined and rolled onto its back, kicking out with its legs.
For a moment Aram was confused by this behaviour. Then he realized the animal was asleep.

That looks like the dog I shot earlier, only larger, thinks Aram. Best not to wake it. He starts to creep silently past it. For once, not having his armor is an advantage, as the metal would surely have clanked and awakened the beast. Still, if it were to wake up, the protection would be sorely missed.

You are creeping along the wall, just trying to figure out how best to slip past the beast, when you feel a blast of surprisingly warm air at your back. You stop and feel behind you. There is a large hole in the wall, large enough for you to get into if you crouch.
Well, that's new! the voice says in your head. I sense something... different behind here. Not bad or dangerous... but it's a fresher power. Could be worth a look.

Yes, I think so too, thinks Aram, backing away from the dog and curiously inspecting the hole in the wall. Crouching low, he manages to squeeze his massive form through it, the torch held in front of him to pierce the darkness.

The tunnel smells of must and mildew, and a thick slime covers the wall that is extremely greasy to the touch. You hold the torch away from the grease, lest it be flammable.
As you travel, you have time to reflect on what's happened since the portal exploded. You wonder if your arm will ever return to normal, though strangely the wondering is a mere whisper in your mind, as if it is more curiousity than true anxiety. You also start thinking about the objects you found in the pack. The diary is obviously Bonnie's, but you wonder about the other objects. Could this be someone else's pack, someone that found Bonnie's diary or has it for some more diabolical reason? The obvious choice is Gertwiller, whom was part of the explosion and may have gotten more than just his clothes switched with you.
And what of the other items? Amulets and crystals, guns and wands... if this was Gertwiller's pack, who was he, really?
Before you can carry on this thought, you feel something tug at your foot. Looking down, you see a pool of slime sucking at your shoe. You think little of it until you force the boot free and realize that the entire bottom is missing, looking only like a burnt edge. Your light shines on the slime again and you gasp in surprise as it moves towards you.

With a gasp, Aram backs away from the slime, holding the torch in front of him between him and it. He thrusts the flame at the slime, hoping it will destroy it or at least drive it off.

The slime stops as you point the light of your torch at it, and backs away as you hold the torch closer.
Watch out! hisses the voice in your mind, and you look over your shoulder to see more slime dripping down the walls and heading for you. You're surrounded by the vile stuff. It doesn't seem to like fire, but you can only chase off the slime from one direction at a time.
I'm sensing this might now be a combat. This will be a three round combat. The slime can't actually be killed, but after three rounds, you'll make it to the end of the tunnel. The slime itself rolls 3 dice and does +2 damage. If you want, we can roll all three rounds at once, or do them one at a time.

Let's do this one round at a time. If I get hurt in one round, it may affect later rounds.
COMBAT roll (5 dice) fighting off the slime, round 1 (1d20=17, 1d20=5, 1d20=8, 1d20=20, 1d20=3)
I'll play 20+17=37 and save the 5, 8, and 3.Surrounded as he is by the slime, Aram bulls forward down the tunnel, using the torch to ward off the slime in front of him as he advances. There can be no retreat now for him. The only way is onward into the unknown.

The slime tried to match Aram in terms of ferocity... but it couldn't. He could see the exit up ahead, a dim glow of light in the distance.
12+12+11, or something like that. I don't remember exactly what it was I played, numbers wise, but it was a good ten off your number. Last round.

Strange, I posted here... but it went away T_T
Ahead of him, Aram could see a practical wall of slime forming to cover the tunnel entrance. He didn't slow his pace, he lifted his shoulders and charged full bore into the wall. There was a moment's hold and then he was through and out of the tunnel. He burst into cool air, an abyss leading into darkness beneath him.
Aram never knew what the source of the light he'd seen was from. He was falling, plummeting into a darkness so complete he was sure it would never end. Yet, after several long seconds, he hit water with a splash and a hiss, his torch extinguishing itself on impact. For a few seconds he spluttered, then splashed his way to the surface, thankful for the first time since losing it that he didn't have his armour.
He still couldn't see anything, but he felt himself being borne on the river current towards some unknown destination. Probably, he mused, nowhere pleasant.
