Since I'm still fighting horde 3 and it only has 1 HP left, I'd like to change the way I play my numbers to just the 8 (saving both 6s and the 2). Since I don't need to cause extra damage, there's no point in playing the second number and it only increases the risk of losing.

My bad, Mel, I thought you were dodging still. You were attacking? Anyways, yes, I need some toughness rolls unless you take stress to switch up the switch up. Two damage coming at you.
Because you didn't dodge, next round's actions will be that Horde 3 turns on Aram, and Horde 2 continues attacking you. Actually, sorry, just re-read that again - I thought becuase the rope had dropped me I'd been forced in to combat? I think.... So I could have still used my dodge roll even unmodified (well, dagger swapped for terrain advantage) rather than drop one of the dice?

Yeah, I mis-read what you'd said. I thought I had to make an attack roll, rather than getting to use my dodge roll on the ground.
Can I still have that stand then, so that I do have an additional die spare to resist the switch-up?

Yes. You can always dodge under the current rules. I suppose I could make situations where you couldn't dodge. It wouldn't really be to my advantage to do so, except that right now you can dodge and avoid damage while Mr. Heavy Hitter comes in from behind and musses things up for me.
His day in the sun will be gone soon, though...
So unless I'm mistaken, we're just waiting to hear from Gregor.

Thanks!
And I'll just be removing those stress points when I get home then

Round ResultsThe horde was weakening as more and more fell, especially to Aram. The knight was a berserker in combat, roaring and laughing as he struck about him. Next to him, Owain fought more calmly, but no less efficiently. Their attacks had allowed Meldorac and Sherri to break free of the crowd. Sherri went immediately to Gregor, who led her away from the conflict. Meldorac followed, leaving the clean up to the knight and priest. Suddenly, a loud roar shook the companions to their cores. It was like nothing they'd ever heard. It had the sound of a earthquake and a tree falling, it struck one in the same guttural way. But worked into the sound was a twisted, yet recognizable, human cry of rage. The remaining citizens froze at the sound, and then slunk away into the alleyways, leaving the companions alone in the middle of the street. Everything was eerily still. The sun had sunk lower in the sky, and Oasis seemed changed since their battle. What had once seemed unremarkable buildings and structures now seemed to have a life of their own. The very buildings creaked and sighed in a sudden wind that gave the impression of a breathing organism. All seemed to be full of menace. Even the rain picked up a notch, colouring the cobblestones dark as it fell in large drops to splatter across the ground. Still haven't heard from Gregor. Since I can't really give him numbers fairly, I'm going to assume he steps back for a moment from the fighting. I also assumed you weren't participating this round, Meldorac, from your posts and your successful dodge. I changed horde 2's target to Aram to show this.
Horde 2 (Aram) → 1 (13) Horde 3 (Aram) → 5 (5 saved) Aram (Horde 2): 8 (saving the other three numbers) Owain (Horde 3): 15, 1 and save the 5
Horde 2 takes three damage from Aram. Horde 3 is finished off by Owain. Neither horde hurts Aram.
Alright, the battle is over, but the war has just begun.

Aram realizes that the hordes are finally either all dead or fled, and he pauses to catch his breath. He is unharmed physically, though swinging his sword and slicing open his foes repeatedly has been exhausting. He vaguely realizes that the horses - and Bonnie - are nowhere to be seen. Gradually, he comes out of battle mode, though he does not let his guard down and he keeps his bloody blade clenched in his gauntlet-covered fist. He turns to address the others, a haggard and hunted look in his eyes. "We are still being watched," he says. "We cannot remain here. Something is coming, and it may be too powerful even for my steel. We have to get off the streets, quickly. I think we should go to Sherri's mother's house. Bonnie will know to meet us there, but if she does not show up by the time we're ready to move on she knows our ultimate destination. Perhaps we should travel via the sewers. Are there any entrances nearby?"

"No," says Meldorac, shaking his head vigorously, "no escape in the sewers." His blade is not bloodied as it had been used only as a warning, but he was shaking as much as Aram. Now that Sherri is safe with Gregor, Meldorac gathers the coil of rope to himself looking with odd disgust at he end. He quickly stows it away.

Owain ignores the conversation, instead chanting prayers for Ishir to watch over the souls of the infected townsfolk the group have slain.

Euthanasia for the zombies. Seemed like the compassionate thing to do. Need I remind you that while you were making yourself 'useful' by falling out of windows Owain and Aram's more direct approach just saved your ass?

Meldorac's actions* kept poor alive infected people busy and stopped them from flooding the alley too quickly, and he was keeping them focused on him and away from you and Sherri!
*Disclaimer: Meldorac's actions may be less altruistic than they appear in the mirror. Do not take more than two of Meldorac's actions during any four hour period. Meldorac's actions may well lead to vomiting, diohrrea and anal leakage.

my bad, busy as hell yesterday so didnt get chance to post! darn kids....lol![/color]
Gregor feels Sherri grasp onto him at the sound of the awful noise. Immediately he took the girls hand and led her back to the group.
"I suggest we run. Now", he said matter-of-factly. "Sherri, how far are we from your mothers?"
