I've never had a backpack.

I wondered. I saw some note on the OOC thread about a backpack, is why I asked. I've got so many notes on so many characters that I sometime lose myself ^_^

That's Igasso Salvin! the voice hisses inside your head. One of the Five Rulers of Oasis. He's a zealot of Ishir and Kai, always acting like he's the chosen one of the gods. I see he's continued his experiments, too, nevermind the blasphemy of it all.

Ah, yes, thinks Aram, I suspected as much. No wonder they call him Igasso the Mad. So the hypocrite wishes to make a cure only to protect himself and his followers. He'll get his comeuppance...but not quite yet. I'll let him run his mouth a little longer so he can reveal more information. He clearly likes to hear the sound of his own voice anyway. What do you know of his experiments?

He's been rogue for a while now. The others let him do as he pleases because he isn't opposing them, but I don't know much about what his experiments entail. He'll do anything in the name of Ishir and Kai, though. I saw him rip the legs off a child before to better study the connection between the bones. Of course, the child was still awake...

You find a necklace around the priest's neck, a thin lace of gold leading to a symbol of the sun and moon intertwined. You also find a set of keys that undoubtedly fit the cages and chains. And...
roll skill.

The body is cold. This is a dead man. He was fairly old, the jolt probably was too much for his heart.
You also find a strange vial with a needle on the end of it. Being a Cener, you recognize this kind of object. It is an injection device used for putting chemicals into creatures. What kind of chemical THIS vial contains, you don't know. Probably something nasty.

Since I've only got one hand, I can't exactly palm the needle device (or can I?), but I intend to come back for it later. Oh, and if Owain takes the keys from me, I'm going to transmit infection/corruption to him when my hand touches his. Or, better still, I can just do it when I'm unlocking his manacles.

How much infection do you want to convert into corruption? After your jaunt through the prisons, you're at about 14 infection. Remember that corruption wears off in pieces after each scene, so you may have to re-corrupt the priest later.

I didn't realize it wore off like that. Does it drop by 1 point per scene? If so, I'll give him 4, keeping 10 infection for myself. I'll turn all 4 points into corruption, as I don't want to give Owain any extra infection - he probably has too much already. It'll last a while this way too. The best part is, this will probably be chalked up to Igasso's experiments! ;D
Aram palms the needle device when he goes back to Igasso's body, and he slips it carefully into his own pocket while all eyes are on Mowyer and Gregor.
Be wary of speaking with my mouth, thinks Aram, especially if it's something I have no way of knowing. We don't want to tip our hand too soon. How did Gregor disable the shield, and how do you know of it, Shaetano? Do you know anything of how Igasso Salvin's necklace works? Is it safe to remove from his neck, or to wear it oneself?

Only a priest of Ishir can wear Igasso's necklace. It increases the fervor of the believer. And all his guards are believers. It probably gives him control over them. I don't know how the mage took down the shield and I don't wish to tell you how I know of it. How I know what I know is none of YOUR concern.
Okay, 4 points will give you very minimal control over Owain. It will start to force him to come up with reasons to trust you. There is always a danger, on an extremely good roll, that he can break the corruption and the plan will back fire, but the chances of this are very slim.
Add the needle to your character sheet.

If Mowyer takes the knife, I'll convert 4 infection to corruption and transfer it to her when my hand brushes against hers. If I can find a mug of bucket of clean water, I'll give Gregor 4 corruption as well when I hand it to him.
